RULES

Before abstract submission the author should proceed with the Online Registration. After registering, you will receive an e-mail with the Code to access the abstract submission tool in your Personal Area. For each abstract you should indicate the other authors and the preferred type of presentation (Oral or Poster). If you don’t receive an e-mail with the confirmation of the abstract(s) submission, please contact us.

Abstract submission guidelines

The official language of this event is English, so please make sure that your abstracts and final works are in English. Moreover, abstracts will only be considered if the following guidelines are respected:

  • Each participant is entitled to submit a maximum of 2 abstracts (oral presentation and a poster/e-poster).
  • Abstracts from presenting authors who are not registered to attend the event will not be accepted.
  • No changes will be considered after the submission process, so please make sure your abstract does not contain any spelling or grammar mistakes.
  • Abstracts must be submitted by filling in the form provided above.
  • When submitting your abstract, you must choose the category and the most relevant session in which you wish to present your work. However, the Scientific Committee reserves the right to change the session, as well as suggest changing the presentation type from poster to oral presentation or vice-versa.

Poster and e-poster

  • Authors must submit their poster as a video presentation. The video should be submitted as an .mp4 file (max size: 250Mb) and should be no longer than 3 minutes. Deadline for file submission is 30th September 2021. Additionally, authors may also bring printed posters (A0 format in portrait orientation).
  • E-posters should be submitted by email as a PDF file (single page, in portrait orientation, with the following dimensions: 59.4 x 84.1 cm) until 30th September 2021.

Oral presentation

  • Speakers should prepare their presentation file in Microsoft PowerPoint (2007 or later version).
  • Oral communications should not exceed 15 minutes (10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion). Overruns will not be allowed.
  • Non-standard Windows fonts will not be accepted.
  • Please bring your presentation file with you in a USB memory stick. Make sure to upload and test your presentation on the Symposium computer at least 10 minutes before your session starts. If required, a technician will be ready to assist you.

Video presentations

  • Video presentations: Speakers (as virtual participation) must submit a video presentation as supporting material. This is a unique way of presenting your paper and discussing it with peers from all over the world. The video should be no longer than 10 minutes and should be submitted as an .mp4 file (max size: 250Mb). Deadline for file submission is 30th September 2021

Awards

Best Oral Presentation and Poster Awards

Awards will be attributed to the best Oral Presentation and best Poster presented by participants during the Symposium. A Committee (members of the Scientific Committee) will review all the submitted oral presentations and posters and the best for each category will be selected. Selection will be based on three criteria: originality of the research, clarity of the presentation, and quality of the results. Please note that e-posters will not be considered for best poster award.

 

Special Issue

Special Issue

The oral and poster presentations submitted to the Symposium will be invited to prepare and submit an extended paper version in English for publication in a Special Issue

in Agronomy (ISSN 2073-4395; CODEN: ABSGGL) – an international, scientific, peer-reviewed, open-access journal by MDPI – after further peer review. This journal is indexed in Web of Science, with an impact factor of JCR2019 = 2.603 (Q1, 18/91 in the “Agronomy” category), and in the Scopus database (Q1 in the “Agronomy and Crop Science” category). The special issue belongs to the section “Farming Sustainability” and the deadline for manuscript submissions is 10th December 2021. Since it is an open-access journal, this publication has a cost (APC) of 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs) for the papers accepted after peer review, although discounts are available for institutions participating in the institutional open access MDPI program and for authors who participate as reviewers.
